Original JUUL pods in the UAE come in three nicotine strengths: 5% (about 59 mg/ml), 3% (about 35 mg/ml) and the 18 mg/ml EU-spec strength. Each pack holds four 0.7 ml pods, and at the time of writing a 4-pack costs AED 90 with us in every flavour and strength. If you are buying JUUL pods in Dubai, the three things that matter are picking the right strength, buying sealed genuine stock, and storing pods properly in the heat.
This is a buyer’s guide to the original JUUL pods – the 0.7 ml pods for the first-generation JUUL device. If you own a JUUL 2, you need different pods; see our JUUL 2 pods guide instead.

JUUL 3% vs 5% vs 18 mg: what is the difference?
The numbers on JUUL packs confuse a lot of people because two different systems are in use.
- 5% and 3% are US-style labels and refer to nicotine by weight. Juul Labs’ 5% pods are equivalent to about 59 mg/ml, and the 3% pods to about 35 mg/ml – roughly 40% less nicotine.
- 18 mg/ml is the strength made for markets that cap e-liquid nicotine at 20 mg/ml, such as the EU and UK. Expressed the same way as the US pods, it is about 1.7%.
In practice, a 5% pod contains roughly three times as much nicotine as an 18 mg pod. Researchers who compared US and EU JUUL pods found the devices were identical in power, so the nicotine delivered per puff scales with the concentration in the pod. The device does not “boost” a weaker pod.
| Label | Approx. mg/ml | Approx. nicotine per 0.7 ml pod | Who it usually suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5% | 59 | About 41 mg | Former pack-a-day smokers |
| 3% | 35 | About 25 mg | Lighter or occasional smokers |
| 18 mg (EU-spec) | 18 | About 13 mg | Light users, or those cutting down |
Per-pod figures are simple arithmetic (mg/ml multiplied by 0.7 ml) and are approximate.
How to choose your strength
If you smoked 15 or more cigarettes a day, start with 5%. If you smoked fewer than ten, 3% is usually enough and feels smoother. The 18 mg pods suit people who want flavour more than throat hit. A common sign you have gone too strong is a light-headed or slightly sick feeling after a few puffs; too weak, and you will find yourself puffing constantly. Nicotine is addictive, and JUUL products are only for adults who already smoke or use nicotine – not for non-smokers, under-18s or anyone pregnant.
What is the JUUL pods price in the UAE?
At the time of writing, every original JUUL 4-pack is AED 90 with us (regular price AED 120). That works out to:
- AED 22.50 per pod
- About AED 32 per ml of e-liquid (4 × 0.7 ml = 2.8 ml per pack)
Compared with JUUL 2, original pods cost more per ml but give you the higher 3% and 5% strengths, which JUUL 2 does not offer. The JUUL 2 vs JUUL comparison works through the numbers in detail. Be wary of prices far below the going rate in the UAE – that is usually the first sign of fake or old stock.
How long does a JUUL pod last?
It depends on how you vape. A figure of about 200 puffs per pod is often quoted, but that is an informal estimate rather than an official Juul Labs specification. An NHS user guide for the 18 mg pods says a pod should last about a day for someone who smoked around 20 cigarettes a day, and longer for lighter smokers. From experience:
- Heavy user: one pod a day, so a 4-pack lasts about four days.
- Moderate user: a pod every one to two days.
- Light user: a pod can last three days or more.
Replace the pod when you can see it is empty through the window, or when the flavour turns faint or burnt on a fully charged device.
How to spot fake JUUL pods
Counterfeit pods are the biggest risk when buying JUUL in the region. Fakes often leak, taste burnt or sugary, and you have no idea what is in the liquid. Check these points every time:
- Sealed box. The pack should arrive factory-sealed, and whatever seal it ships with should be intact, whether that is the outer wrap, a tear strip or the seal over the pods inside. Re-glued flaps, cut or loose wrap, or tape are red flags.
- Print quality. Genuine packs have sharp printing, even colours and correctly spelled text. Blurry logos, odd fonts or spelling errors are red flags.
- Batch or lot code. Look for a printed batch code and date on the pack. It should be printed cleanly, not handwritten or stickered on.
- Warnings that match the strength. Packs carry the nicotine warning of the market they were made for. UK and EU rules cap nicotine at 20 mg/ml, and packs made for those markets carry the warning “This product contains nicotine which is a highly addictive substance” (or its translation), so a genuine UK or EU pack holds 20 mg/ml or less; JUUL’s UK and EU pods are typically 18 mg/ml. A pack claiming 3% or 5% but printed with EU-style warnings does not add up.
- The pod itself. Genuine pods click firmly into the device and the liquid is clear to pale amber. Pods that wobble, leak from new or arrive half-empty are not right.
- The price. If it is much cheaper than everywhere else, ask why.
Everything we sell is sealed, genuine stock. Because you can pay on delivery, you can check the seal and batch code before you hand over any money.

Are JUUL pods compatible with other devices?
Original JUUL pods fit only the original JUUL device, such as the JUUL Slate or JUUL Silver (AED 90 each at the time of writing). They do not fit JUUL 2, and JUUL 2 pods do not fit the original device. Some third-party batteries claim JUUL compatibility, but we only recommend genuine JUUL hardware. Our pod compatibility guide covers this for other brands.
How to store JUUL pods in UAE heat
Heat is the enemy of e-liquid and batteries. JUUL user guidance is to keep the device away from anywhere too hot or too cold, and in the UAE that mostly means the car.
- Never leave pods or the device in a parked car or in direct sun. Summer cabin temperatures here go far beyond anything a battery or pod is designed for.
- Keep unopened packs at room temperature, out of sunlight. A cupboard is fine; the fridge is unnecessary.
- Store pods upright where possible, and keep a spare pod in its pack rather than loose in a pocket.
- Moving straight from cold air-conditioning into outdoor heat (or the reverse) can push liquid out of the pod. If you see condensation or liquid, wipe the contacts dry before use.
JUUL troubleshooting: no hit, leaking or blinking light
No hit or weak vapour
First, charge the device: put it on the magnetic USB dock for about an hour. Then take the pod out, wipe the gold contacts on both the pod and device with a dry tissue, and reinsert it firmly until it clicks. If a new pod still gives nothing, try another pod from the pack to rule out one bad pod.
Leaking or gurgling
Take shorter, gentler puffs – long hard draws pull liquid into the mouthpiece. Do not leave the device in a hot car. If a pod leaks from new, stop using it.
What do the lights mean?
On the original JUUL, a gentle double-tap shows the battery level: green means plenty of charge, yellow means it is getting low, and red means it needs charging soon. While docked, the light pulses as it charges and turns solid green when full. A light that flashes repeatedly while you puff usually means the battery is flat or the pod is not making proper contact – recharge, then reseat the pod. If it still blinks with a full battery and a fresh pod, the device may be faulty.

Frequently asked questions
How much are JUUL pods in Dubai?
At the time of writing, an original JUUL 4-pack is AED 90 with us in every flavour and strength, which is AED 22.50 per pod. JUUL 2 pods are AED 55 for a 2-pack.
Is 5% JUUL stronger than 18 mg?
Yes, by a wide margin. 5% is roughly 59 mg/ml, while 18 mg pods are 18 mg/ml, so a 5% pod holds about three times as much nicotine. The 3% pods sit in between at about 35 mg/ml.
How many cigarettes is one JUUL pod?
There is no exact equivalence because nicotine absorption from vaping and smoking differs. A widely quoted estimate from the US anti-smoking group Truth Initiative is that one 5% pod contains roughly as much nicotine as a pack of cigarettes, but how much you actually absorb depends on how you puff.
Why is my JUUL pod not hitting?
Usually it is a flat battery or dirty contacts. Charge the device for an hour, wipe the pod and device contacts dry, and reinsert the pod firmly. If a second pod also fails, the problem is the device.
Do JUUL pods expire?
Packs carry a batch code and date. Sealed pods stored at room temperature keep well, but flavour fades with age and heat, so buy from a shop that turns stock over quickly and avoid packs that have been stored in hot conditions.
